MDM & MAM
Mobile Device Management (MDM) manages the whole device - settings, security, apps. Typical for corporate-owned devices.
Mobile Application Management (MAM) manages only the work apps and their data, not the personal device. Typical for BYOD. On offboarding you can selectively wipe just the company data. The two modes can be combined.
